Dangers and safety

Kite surfing is not an easy sport. It is fun but full of danger. Most kite riders are thrown out, flown away or dashed against water, buildings or power lines due to strong forces. These forces are mostly come by sudden wind gusts.

Most accidental cases in kite surfing are seen when someone is being lofted or cannot maintain his grip and loses his control. And as a result there is a collision with beach objects like sand, trees or rocks. And such accidents lead to a serious injury because when someone is having kite surfing in the winds of sea shores, he mostly is doing this at a high speed. So when such type of accidents occur, the kite surfers hit at the surface with enormous speed. So it is a very risky sport and not for the soft hearted people. Mostly daring people like to become a kite rider and mostly such kind of persons become successful.

 

So before doing kite surfing one should be guided completely and he should have the basic safety precautions knowledge or someone should give him the basis guidance. Some of the basic safety guidelines are as follows:

 

• Before kite surfing one should always have the knowledge of weather forecast.
• He should check the color radar
• He should also check real-time wind reports that can be checked easily at the net to know whether there is any possibility of any storm and high speed winds. So one should avoid kite boarding in storms.
• One thing every kite rider should always remember that he should not ride in crowded areas.
• He should also avoid going near the rocks or power lines. Mostly it is advised to keep a safe distance from such objects. And the distance of minimum 100 meters is considered to be a safe distance.
• Do not try to ride offshore. Kite rider is advised to do kite surfing with side-shore winds. Riding directly onshore winds is also dangerous.
• Kite riders should note the changes that are coming in weather by time to time. He should also consider wind changes attentively. If he observes any shock from the kite bar, then he should not continue kite riding. Because it is the alarm of danger and he must land within seconds to get the shelter.
• Kite riders should not forget to wear their helmets and impact vests. If someone does not wear these things then he is bringing his life into big danger.
• If you want to stay in water for a long period and you do not want to have any mishap or any kind of injury. So you should wear special exposure clothing.
• If a kite rider is not using helmet then he should not use a board leash. Because it can cause board to hit the rider in the head.
• You should not ride overpowered. Using big kites is not always safe. It is extensively dangerous. And under power riding is advisable. And if someone is not experienced or he does not have faith in his abilities he should try small kites. And one should remain within the specified wind range.
• When a kite surfer is landing or launching the kite there is a big possibility of a sudden and dangerous accident. So if you want to avoid such kind of accident then always remain much careful while entering or leaving the water. You should always get ready for the quick-release mechanism. Try to avoid spending much time on shore. And do not try to fly kite high.
