A short note on Rocker Arms Suspension
I think it is time to write down some of my observations on rocker arms to the knowledge and information of all those who are actively involved in this discussion on rocker arms. It was about two years’ back that I first purchased a couple of rocker arms to be used with my PL buggies. It is quite comfortable and safe to be used by any one. It will work so smoothly in the ups and downs giving without giving any strain to your back.
Here is a short note for those who have not got a chance to see them. You will be able to get an idea about the working of rocker arms if I compare it with the working of rear suspension of a truck. Roker Arms make use of the same technology to run it. Rocker arms will be screwed into the same place unlike a wheel that is screwed into the end part of the rear axle. The rocker arms stand in an erected or in an upright position with the rear axle. It will be able to rotate in extreme speed in this comfortable position. The hub of the rocker arm suspension is designed to make the working of the system more effective. For this purpose rocker arms use a bigger hub with tubes that are larger to make the axle to slide on the hub. The extra length of the hub of rocker arms will help it to keep perfect alignment with the axle. The nylon bush on the other end of the hub is perfectly designed keep it well enclosed over the axle. It will help both the hub and axle to move freely without touching each other. The opposite side of the hub will remain closed with a solid material that comes with minimum 10mm thickness. A bolt hole will be made by using bolt hole making equipment to screw a bolt there. The bolt to be attached here should be of the same size of the bolts that are bolted in the wheels. Only stainless steel bolts with same thread is to be used while fixing bolts at the closed end of the hub. This system will help the buggies to get the suspension without rotating the body of the buggy.
Rocker arms suspension is not something that is free of any defects. The major defects of a rocker arm suspension include the difficulty in handling by the beginners due to the extra weight of the system. The lesser turning resistance of the system may make it difficult for a starter to handle it while it takes sharper turns. This difficulty may increase when a person use it on very hard grounds.
But we can not ignore the extreme resistance that shows to avoid side ways drifts by using the wheels placed on the outer part. With these wheels the inside of the system will become more stable and comfortable to be used.
