Generally, new kite-surfers are confused about using either a two-line kite or four-line kite. As they are new so they are very curious to make a good selection of a kite to get started with kite surfing. They ask their trainers or senior kite boarders about the main difference between both the kites and which one should be used for kite surfing. Actually, it is up to you. If you are comfortable with a four-line kite then this must be your choice. And if you do not feel comfortable with it then option of a two-line kite is there for you.
A two-line kite is basically designed for the beginners. New kite surfers are unable to differentiate between each connection point so they are advised to use a two-line kite at start because they do not know the advanced techniques of using a kite and they just have to turn it left and right. Whereas a four-line setup is for the skillful and veteran kites boarders, it provides them a wider range of flexibility to make rapid turns and deployment. As we know experienced kite boarders like to use a four-line kite, but they should know that using this type of kite may prove to be a challenging task for them, as the kite boarders may possibly get tangled by using it.
A new kite surfer during his initial period of kite boarding is provided two-line kite that generally boosts his confidence level to get prepared for the bigger one. The kite-surfer should decrease the speed after flying the kite into the above forward window. As the surfer gets succeeded in reducing its speed, then it is safe to bring it down.
Four-line setups tie together various parts of the kite itself. You must have to be very careful because your single mistake would result in deploying the kite and then you would have to launch your kite again. Make sure to deploy your kite correctly; if you don’t deploy it accurately then you must have to repeat the process till you launch it properly.
In a four line kite, the average length of the line is 40 meters and in a 2 line kite the average length of the kite lines is about 30 meters. This size is not always fixed but may slightly vary depending on the vendor.
