Body dragging
Kite boarding is a very exciting but a dangerous sport as well. Beginners are required to practice some important tricks so that they may be able to start using a board as soon as possible. During first few days, you have to get some of the basic lessons to learn the useful techniques of kite boarding. At the very first day you should try to learn about launching a kite. You must learn how you can launch your kite on land as well as in water. At start, you will not be able to navigate your kite without a board. So you should ask your instructor that how you can do it. He will teach you a technique that may allow you to navigate your kite properly. It will then become comparatively easier for you to get the kite going. This is generally termed as “Body dragging”. There are usually very little or no chances of injury due to the board itself, so you can practice this technique without any fear. But you must follow the instructions of your instructor.
After you have your kite down wind and air bound then your will be soaring through the water while keeping yourself both out and in the water. This technique helps you to use your feet efficiently. It will make you an expert just like a seagull and you would fly and crash out and in the water. To practice this technique you must remain as away from the shore as possible, because the strong wind currents may blow you inland. It is advisable to practice this technique in the beaches which are free from tourists and swimmers, because you may hit the swimmers or tourists while practicing body dragging technique.
Some people believe that body dragging is just for rookies, but this is not true. It is one of the techniques of kite surfing, and every kite-surfer should learn it. However, it does not have any draw backs. People who use this technique don’t need to take tension of having board injuries. There are a lot of kite-surfers who love to do dragging in various techniques.
Body dragging is widely accepted by the kite-surfers and it is a very useful way for the new kite-surfers, as it allows them to use a kite and a board with no time. Those who practice this technique for some time, start to use kites and boards very quickly.
