Avoid collisions in kitesurfing
Kitesurfing is a sport which is full of excitement and is gaining popularity all over the world. But it is dangerous as well and if you are thinking to become a kitesurfer you should be well aware of the dangers that you may face while kitesurfing. You should have to get all the safety instructions before kitesurfing. For the past few years "Collision Avoidance" has become a main issue for the kitesurfers. And this incident is mostly seen when a big number of kitesurfers are riding at one place. One must have to know all the techniques which are helpful in avoiding this type of collision. There are different collision avoidance techniques for different types of situations. You will only have to make a use of your common sense to pick the best technique at the right time.
The best way to avoid the collisions is to give up right of way. For instance, when 2 kitesurfers are in a position so that a collision may occur, then the kitesurfer on the left hand forward must give the path to right hand forward kitesurfer. So in this collision avoidance technique, the kitesurfer with right hand forward will get the way in the situation of collision.
Now let me tell you the second technique to get away from such incidents. If two kiteboarders come across to each other at right hand forward, then if one of them who is most up mind will have to give way to the other one. In this way the situation can be handled easily. One thing to remember is that if two kiteboarders are observing that both of their kites may collide with each others, then to avoid the collision the upwind rider have to fly the kite as high as he can, and the downwind rider will have to fly the kite as low as he can.
If anyone wants to overtake you, then you should give way to that kitesurfer to avoid any collision.
SELF RESCUES
There are also some self rescue techniques for kitesurfers. Let us discuss here one of the most common. If you are kitesurfing and caught in any trouble while the kite is flying, you should use kite's power to avoid any dangerous accident. By doing so you will go almost 60 degrees downwind so there should always be a reachable shore in either direction.
