Wake boarding and Water Skiing
Wake boarding came into life in the late 1980's and have inherited the design and riding style of the snowboard, or ski board as it was first called. The development the last years have spun out several riding styles. The regular wake board have bindings and fin's to control the board and edging. Some prefer to remove the fin's and use the board for tricks with jumps and slides. Others prefer to not use any bindings or fin's at all. This is called the wake skate style. Basic wake boarding is what we offer in Club ONE2KITE. This means you will be given an board with bindings and fin's. To pull wake boarder, we use on of our jet-ski's with a trained operator. You will be given a helmet and a life jacket together with the wake board. You start in the water by lying on your back holding the rope. Once you are ready, you give the driver of the jet-ski a signal, and he will start applying pull so you can get out of the water. Once you are up you can start slowly to cruise from side to side.

Water Skiing however is a much older sport that was invented around the 1940's. This sport has not changed a whole lot the last year and consists of a pair of ski's larger than normal ski's for snow. They have easy slip in bindings that you can use bare-foot. Each pair of ski's usually have one fin in the back of each ski. Some people like to ride with only one ski as it provide a bit more fun for carving and sharp turns. The starting position is the same as for wake boarding. You will stay in the water with the ski's attached and will be pulled once you signal the driver of the jet-ski. In time when you get a hang of it, you can start with two ski's and let go of one ski once you have some speed and feel in control. Behind the main binding of your water ski you will have a small binding to put your second foot.
As kite surfing use a board very similar to wake boarding, having some training sessions with a wake board will greatly benefit once you will try with a kite. If you feel you have control of the board, you can put more attention on controlling the kite instead.
