Weather and Climate
The climate of this island is moist due to the monsoon winds. These winds blow in different directions. The weather normally remains hot from March to September, so moist air is entered in Phuket from the Indian Ocean. And it brings rains of the southwest monsoon. In the middle of April it rains heavily with moisture.
The month of May is the month of rain. Most of the days of the month, there will be a rain. So May is the wettest month. The month of October becomes the tense and also the wet month because of the monsoon winds move back to Indian Ocean from the east cost of Thailand.
From November to March, the climate of Phuket is dryer and cool. After this period the climate becomes warm and humid. It is good to visit Phuket during the monsoon season because there will be no rain and you can enjoy the place. There may be little showers of rain in the after noon, but this is usually a pleasant experience.
What's the Phuket weather like during the rainy season?
This Island has a tropical climate. The yearly average temperature of Phuket is almost 29C. Most of the people like to spend the high season in Phuket. This season starts in November and ends in March. The temperature in these months is absolutely ideal because there in not much rainfall during this season and the sky mostly remains blue. Due to the arrival of visitors the rates here become quite high. And the hotels become overloaded and it is hard to find rooms in good hotels.
From April to Mid of May the temperature remains quite hot with an average of almost 34C and you can often see heavy thunder-showers in the late afternoons. On 13th of April people here celebrate Thai New Year named Songkran Festival. At this occasion people throw cool water on each other.
And then From May to November people see another season having lesser temperatures with lots of rain. This is called the Monsoon Season.
The Monsoon Season has its own features. The average temperature in this season is almost 29/30C and light warm wind blows pleasantly in this season. In this season it does not rain daily here. You can observe a gap of some beautiful sunshine between the short showers. June, July and August remains to be quite pleasant.
So in this season there are not much visitors so atmosphere remains quite and calm. You can get things and services at cheaper rates. And the activities and trips do not suffer in it. People can go for swimming and kayaking but can't arrange diving trips in this season.
At last I will just say that Phuket has ideal tropical climate the sky mostly will remain blue and there is never cold in the island. Just visit the Phuket and forget the worries of your life. But you will not be able to forget your time spent here.
